What is “Quality?”
The word “quality” is often used and understood by many to mean that something is done or something is produced to some undefined “high standard.”
What is this “high standard”, who defines it?
In the world of professional project management the word “quality” is not used this way. “Quality” refers to how closely the work product complies with the project specifications. The word “grade” more accurately describes the “high (or low) standard”.
For example; a product produced with few features but no defects is low grade but high quality, but a product produced with many great features but some defects is high grade but low quality.
